Crappy automated AI outreach
Linkedin is a sales and marketing platform, so I expect to be pitched.
And I love AI - it’s a games changer in terms of research and automation.
But what I absolutely hate is an AI outreach that does not even do the bare minimum of research.
❌ Blind zoom meeting invite without even introducing yourself and seeing if I am interested?
IGNORE
❌ Auto pitch me one minute after I accept a connection request?
DELETE
❌ Automated email asking me to spend time watching your “about us” video without first doing basic research into what I might need?
DELETE
And it’s really the third one that gets me fired up: not doing basic research using publicly available data on LinkedIn.
I’m a one man company.
No, I don’t need to outsource my HR functions.
I’m a fractional Chief marketing Officer.
No, I don’t need you to audit my website.
This pseudo-personalization and blind AI outreach isn’t just annoying.
It’s irrelevant.
And if you are AI-auto-blasting your prospects it’s costing you sales.
According to Gartner,
73% 𝒐𝒇 𝑩2𝑩 𝒃𝒖𝒚𝒆𝒓𝒔 𝒂𝒄𝒕𝒊𝒗𝒆𝒍𝒚 𝒂𝒗𝒐𝒊𝒅 𝒔𝒖𝒑𝒑𝒍𝒊𝒆𝒓𝒔 𝒘𝒉𝒐 𝒔𝒆𝒏𝒅 𝒊𝒓𝒓𝒆𝒍𝒆𝒗𝒂𝒏𝒕 𝒐𝒖𝒕𝒓𝒆𝒂𝒄𝒉.
And this is why you can’t just fire up a $50 / month AI agent to scrape your LinkedIn connections and send out garbage content, emails, or DMs.
The buyers journey matters.
