Being discovered by ChatGPT is important
Google has been my go to method of finding potential vendors for years.
But, the process of finding vendors with search engines takes a lot of time.
👉 Type in a few keywords
👉 Scan through the results
👉 Based upon the snippet, click the interesting link
👉 Wait for the website to load
👉 Skim key pages of the website to determine if the vendor offers what I am looking for
👉 Document the url and make some notes
👉 Repeat till I have discovered enough potential vendors
You get the idea.
I think we can all agree it’s a frustrating process.
But with ChatGPT, discovering vendors is much more streamlined, efficient and organized:
➡️ Give ChatGPT my business and technical requirements
➡️ Ask ChatGPT to find 10 vendors who meet my requirements
➡️ Grab a cup of coffee and a few minutes later, read ChatGPT’s summarized results
To be sure, there is a decent amount of up front work needed to properly document my requirements. But, that is something we all should be doing anyway.
I don’t think I am alone in finding huge time savings and efficiencies in moving away from
❌ Keyword Searches with Google
to
✅ Requirement Searches with ChatGPT.
As more B2B buyers use ChatGPT, companies must shift away from creating:
❌ Keyword stuffed, SEO optimized, marketing fluff
to
✅ Sales enabled content that helps buyers match their requirements against your capabilities.
Search is changing.
If creating sales enabled content isn’t in your 2025 marketing strategy, make it a priority for 2026.
