Your website is not a lead generation machine: its a database for AI

This is perhaps the biggest disruption for marketing and sales for the next three years.

It’s a combination of several factors:
πŸ‘‰ B2B buyers prefer self directed research and a rep free buying experience
πŸ‘‰ B2B buyers are using AI in their purchasing process
πŸ‘‰ AI tools use external sources like your website as a data source when answering buyer questions

I tried to find the size, in terms of data storage, for these newer AI models and was unsuccessful. Companies are reluctant to disclose this type of data.

But I can safely say that it’s NOT as large as the size of all websites out there on the internet.

So it only makes sense that these AI tools need to go to external and public data sources like your website in order to answer its user questions.

In fact you can see this happen when tools like when the ChatGPT o3 model is β€œthinking”.

So when your B2B buyers ask their AI tools to compare and evaluate you against your competitor, where is it getting its data?

That’s right, your website.

IF
you want to make sure that these AI tools are getting complete and accurate data for its users queries,
THEN
your website needs to have answers to all of the sales questions of your B2B buyers.

Technology has advanced.
Buyer behavior has changed.

Your website needs to adapt and become the data source for AI tools like ChatGPT to answer its users sales questions.
